We had been assigned a project with the theme of “suspended object” and were instructed to take 50 individual photos of possible subjects. I had excavated three fragments of a 1920s porcelain figurine in the woods of an 1800s farmhouse. After rediscovering them, I knew they would make a compelling subject for the project. I created the work with several different values of drawing pencils, as instructed for our project.
I am currently studying history, but I believe that I will keep art as a hobby in the future and not actively take more classes.
