This self-portrait represents an oil lesson that brings me joy to remember. Oil paints are an excellent medium for portraits, and I teach my advanced students how to paint with oils without the use of solvents. We work together step by step, reviewing composition, color theory, and perspective. This painting contains imagery representing many memories of my life, but the richest one is the sharing of knowledge with my students.
Teaching art has been my life for 47 years. My plan for the future is to keep sharing knowledge and enjoying the visuals that surround us daily.
