This work is a tribute to my grandfather. I found an old photo of him in Vietnam, and I love how peaceful and casual he looks amid the chaos around him. The painting tells a story about a soldier who was forgotten until he was found again by my brush. I used gouache paint in muted, cool tones to give the figure a ghost-like presence.
I plan on attending a four-year college and continuing my journey with art, hopefully by pursuing a career in a creative field.
