When I was visiting Punta del Este, Uruguay, a storm approached where I was staying. I thought it looked fascinating, so I grabbed my camera and snapped a shot, just as the fog took over and the storm became a blur. It didn’t seem special in the moment, but when I looked back at the photograph later, I felt a deep connection to it. The clouds on the sea seemed to mirror those times in my life when darkness has approached me, overriding my rationality and beginning to encompass me. I’ve learned to face storms head on, knowing that a bright day always follows.
My interest in photography sprouted at a young age and has played a great role in my life over the last five years, allowing me to creatively express who I truly am, and giving me the self-confidence I need. I plan to continue shooting landscapes and pursuing my love for portraiture, and I would love to delve into street photography, too.
