When artists point toward the world around them, they say, “Look at what I’ve seen and how it made me feel.” When artists point toward themselves, they say, “Hey, look at what I have come up with!” Both approaches communicate and form relationships with the audience or viewer. For this simple reason, I paint.
Next, I want to focus on getting better at throwing pottery on a wheel.
