Here’s veteran journalist and author Dale Russakoff being interviewed recently by the NYT’s Kate Zernike at an event hosted by the Eagleton Institute of Politics.
Russakoff’s book about Newark public schools has been all the rage this summer and fall. Zernike is returning to the education beat (though we have yet to see an education story from her). It’s unclear from the first few minutes of the conversation that I’ve been able to watch whether she queries Russakoff about some of the questions that have come up about the book in terms of its reporting on Newark student achievement and coverage of the opposition to the reform efforts there that were organized and coordinated by labor (among others).
