My work is inspired by my experiences, and this piece is the first in a series of three works that grew out of grief, frustration, and a desire for cancer to be obliterated from this earth. Throughout my life, people I love have fought their battles, survived, and lost.

It is a mixed-media work, using archival pigment marker and gold, copper, and aluminum leaves. The pigment marker was used for the fine curved lines to build texture. The gold, copper, and aluminum leaves create contrast.
