The images in the artwork were revealed with an X-acto knife from a single sheet of paper. The work illustrates the life and loves of my dear friend who had recently lost her beloved husband, an avid fisherman. Roberta stands as the graceful, strong heron, delighting in the twinkles of light (love) that surround her. In spite of the tumultuous clouds, she chooses to dance.
Currently, I’m creating clay portrait sculptures, and I continue to practice woodblock printmaking combining my love for the graphic in artworks with the joy of hands-on wood shaping I learned from my father.
