Google products are the dominant ed tech tools in schools, according to a data from LearnPlatform, Inc. The top seven spots in LearnPlatform’s list of top 40 ed tech products accessed in schools belong to Google products, starting with Google Docs in the top spot and also including Google Drive, YouTube, Google Slides, Google Classroom, Google Forms, and Gmail. Wikipedia, Kahoot!, and Quizlet round out the top 10. The information collected from over 1 million students and teachers using the LearnPlatform’s Google Chrome extension in more than 1,000 educational institutions.

Each district accessed, on average, 703 ed tech tools each month in the 2018-19 school year, a 28% increase over the 2017-18 school year.

Of the top 40 products used, 32.5% were tools that delivered actual instructional content, 27.5% were operational tools to streamline processes, and 20% were reference tools used for information gathering. Only 7.5% were used for assessment, the same percentage of social networking tools used. And 5% of the tools were learning management systems.
